Audubon Christmas Bird Count
Participate in the Audubon Christmas Bird Count
Count Day for 2015-2016 is January 2, 2016. The maps below show the areas we count. To select an area to walk and count, or to conduct a feeder our nocturnal count, please contact Alaska Backcountry Outfitters on Second Street or call 766-2876. We do ask that once you have selected an area, you stay within that area. You can print out a reporting form (below) or pick one up from Alaska Backcountry Outfitters. On count day, walk your area or observe your feeder and make note of all the birds you can positively identify. We are looking for the numbers of each species. When you are done, turn your reporting form in to Alaska Backcountry Outfitters.
To participate, contact us to sign up: firstname.lastname@example.org or 766-3664, or go by Alaska Backcountry Outfitters on Second St. across from the Visitor's Center.
Bird Count Unit Maps These maps have been updated from previous years. Check to see maps and descriptions of count units.
Christmas Bird Count Reporting Forms Please print and fill out both the forms (Data and Birdlist) below completely including your name and contact information (in case we have questions). Once you have all your data on the forms, turn them in to Backcountry Outfitter on Second Ave.
