 There seem to be more voles this year, 2011.

Gee Whiz

Red-Backed voles eat a wide variety of foods including grass, seeds, fruit, lichens, fungi, insects and meat.  They are the bottom of the food chain and are eaten by weasels, marten, foxes, coyotes, owls, most hawks, inland breeding gulls, jaegers, great blue herons, domestic cats, northern pike and other voles.
